Thank you for visiting the New Jersey Licensed Beverage Association’s (NJLBA) website. Our association just passed an historic milestone, celebrating 80 years as the advocate for New Jersey’s bars, taverns and restaurants.
With representation in all 21 counties, the NJLBA has served as the voice of the alcohol beverage industry since 1933. Charged with helping both small and large scale businesses meet the regulatory and legislative industry requirements, the association continues to grow and now, more than ever, plays a critical role in helping to maintain the integrity of our members’ liquor licenses.
As the first quarter of 2014 draws to a close, our association continues to move forward with a robust agenda designed to ensure growth and prosperity for the NJLBA and our businesses. We have a strong foundation in place, and we will build upon that as we work together to further our position in New Jersey’s alcohol beverage industry.
It seems that every day our industry is facing new regulatory and legislative challenges. If we are to effectively meet these challenges, we must embrace new ideas and initiatives, and we must do it together, with a united and strong voice. Whether we are addressing the two license limitation law or the creation of new liquor licenses, we are most effective when we speak with one voice. I am proud of the NJLBA’s long history of working with our fellow trade associations, including the Liquor Store Alliance, the Restaurant Association, the Wine and Spirit Wholesalers Association and the Beer Wholesalers Association of New Jersey, and we look forward to fostering these partnerships in the months ahead.
In addition to working closely with our partners this year, the association will continue to actively monitor all proposed legislative changes related to the alcohol beverage industry. Through our legislative team in Trenton, our dedicated board of directors and our county directors, we will ensure that all NJLBA members are kept up-to-date on any bills or regulatory changes that would impact our livelihoods. And, perhaps most importantly, we will continue in 2014 to be a strong advocate for our members and speak out against legislation and proposals that will harm us.
As we move towards the busy summer season, the association is proud to once again host two annual events, both widely anticipated by our members, their families and friends. First, on June 23, the association will sponsor the annual Bar Anticipation Golf Outing, which will be held this year at the Pine Barrens Golf Club in Jackson, Ocean County. This annual outing enjoys large attendance, so reserve your space early. Two days later, on June 25, the association will host the Wellhofer Scholarship Foundation Picnic, at Oak Tree Lodge, in Wall Township, Monmouth County. An annual fundraiser for the scholarship fund, this daylong event continues to grow each year. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet and talk with the association’s Board of Director’s and also enjoy a great picnic in a beautiful setting! I hope to see you there.
Additional information on both of these events can be found here on the NJLBA website. I hope you will visit our new site often, as we continue to add new information about topics of interest to all those involved in the alcohol beverage industry. I wish everyone a healthy and prosperous Spring!
